Major Thomas, Deputy, NGB J3 Counterdrug Drug Demand Reduction (DDR) Program
, began his career by enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1982. He joined the Georgia Air National Guard in 1990. He joined the NGB J3 Counterdrug Program in 1992. He graduated in 1996 from Saint Leo College with a Bachelor’s in Criminology and was commissioned in 1997.

His initial duties with the Counterdrug Program included managing the highly successful Digital Mapping Program and Counterdrug technology efforts in Atlanta, GA from 1992 to 2005. In 2006, he transferred to Arlington, VA to support Counterdrug Acquisition requirements. The highlight of his acquisition duties was serving as the first Contracting Officer’s Representative to help make the “Stay on Track” course a reality by assisting in the initial start of the program in April 2006. His expertise includes program and acquisition management. He shares a passion and commitment for enhancing the DDR program and the “Stay on Track” effort to help America’s youth stay drug free.
