Click to enlarge CW3 Scott Mason, SPC Carri Henry, and Community Outreach Coordinator Sharon Clarke joined together to bring Stay on Track to the Bristol community during the Food City Family Race Night on August 23, 2007. CW3 Mason brought the Drug Education Trailer to educate the local community about the dangers of drug use, as well as, what to look for within the community and at home.  There was a steady flow of traffic, many of whom where local educators, police officers, and officials, all asking questions about the Stay on Track program.

The mission of attending this event; to work together with the Tennessee National Guard DDR group in an effort to promote Stay on Track, share success stories, pass out drug prevention information, utilize the Drug Education Trailer, and utilize CW3 Mason’s expertise in the drug demand reduction field.

I look forward to many more events such as this one. Stay on Track’s success is motivational as well as complementary to all of your hard work!  Let’s try and educate our communities’ nationwide, using as many unique opportunities as possible. If I can assist you with coordinating community activities, please contact me at 276-494-0056.

Thank you,

Sharon Clarke
Director of Community Outreach

MSG Kenneth Garthe,

Last year, Fieldale-Collinsville Middle School was honored by the Stay On Track program with a visit by the National Guard and its driver, Greg Biffle.

I wanted to tell you how much of an impact your program had on our school.

FCMS had 40% more students participate in its remediation program than previous years. Out of those students over 30% did better than expected.

The students at FCMS did so well that FCMS was accredided this past school year.

The two jackets that were left by the National Guard Racing Team were incredible incentives. The two students who achieved the highest attendance in remediation were the recipients.

I am also writing this email to ask if the National Guard Racing team's driver could make an appearance at FCMS during the October race in Martinsville, Virginia. Mr. Mears would show the students at FC a positive role model and further instill in them the possibilities open to them without drugs.

I understand that Mr. Mears would only be available for a short time and that there are too many students for autographs or photo-ops. His time would mean the world to these students. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Lisa Isley
